RESERVED
Unfortunately, as of 2021, and due to many, many reasons, we no longer accept deposits to hold birds. Babies will be made available 1 week after they have weaned, as long as they have maintained their weight while eating fully on their own. This means you’ll be seeing babies in our nursery long before they are made available. Reasons for this decision include, but are not limited to:
- Clients change their mind on a previously reserved baby, but meanwhile other clients who wanted the baby were turned away.
- Clients have requested long holds on a baby, and the baby continues to stay in our aviary environment. This makes it more difficult for him/her to keep on track with hand training. They may also start a bonding process with our other birds, or they may get less attention from us due to new, younger babies requiring more time. Most of our tame babies transition into their new homes within a week of being made available.
- A client reserves a very young baby in hopes that they will be a certain gender or have the classic attributes of our tame or handfed babies. But for whatever reason, the baby doesn’t turn out how they hoped. By this point, other babies who could have filled their need at the time have already been sold, and my client is disappointed.
- Health problems in a baby that don’t develop right away.
- A baby was injured and is staying in our hospital room until fully healed.
- A baby shows the right attributes and personality to become one of our “Birdy Buddies” (a young bird who can befriend any of our other birds who may need a little extra help).
- A baby qualifies for our Breeder’s Choice program, and will be reserved until they mature.
- Some other unseen event occurred, or a previous client request was fulfilled.
Babies marked “Reserved” on the website means that they may have been held by the breeder for further observations (for any of the above reasons), and will either be made available or marked sold at a later point in time.

Appointments can be made to come visit the babies who are available! It is “first-come, first-see”, by appointment only. Please contact us via the contact page or text via KSL to schedule an appointment. Most of our availability is on Friday or Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays. Please indicate if there is a specific baby or babies you are hoping to see. We will have them ready in our meet-and-greet room prior to your arrival, or update you if that one is sold at a previously scheduled appointment.
We accept payment either via Venmo or cash.
If you have a specific need or want to be notified when birds with certain attributes are ready, you can contact us ahead of time and I will place you on our client-contact board. No deposit or commitment required. I will contact you in the order that the requests were made. PLEASE keep in mind, however, that life happens, I get scattered brained, and I also have young children—my eldest being autistic. So, I encourage you to keep an eye on the website, too. Simply put, I may unintentionally forget. Being placed on my client-contact board does NOT guarantee anything. 🙂 It is simply a service I wish to provide to those dedicated to my aviary.
